My cousins introduced me to the PlayStation 2 on Easter Sunday in 2007, but I didn't get my own until Christmas Day six years later. It's because of this brilliant console that I fell in love with many different video game franchises, such as Tekken, Dead or Alive, Soulcalibur, and Ridge Racer.
Let's spread the PS2 love in the waning hours of its Japanese release day 25 years ago. 💜

My cousins introduced me to the PlayStation 2 on Easter Sunday in 2007, but I didn't get my own until Christmas Day six years later. It's because of this brilliant console that I fell in love with many different video game franchises, such as Tekken, Dead or Alive, Soulcalibur, and Ridge Racer.
The PlayStation 2 and, by extension, Ridge Racer V launched 25 years ago today in Japan. Just saying that blows my mind, because how have two and a half decades passed since one of my favorite consoles was released?

I can't believe that Tekken 4, my all-time favorite game in terms of storytelling and atmosphere, is legally old enough to drink. Here's to 21 years of one of the best installments in the franchise that doesn't deserve its status as the black sheep.

Okay, it's time for me to take a break from rhythm games for a while. Trying to get a full combo for the RANDOM course on DIFFICULT in Dance Dance Revolution STRIKE last night gave me a headache, so now I finally have an excuse to play my favorite fighting games again, starting with Tekken 4.

Okay, it's time for me to take a break from rhythm games for a while. Trying to get a full combo for the RANDOM course on DIFFICULT in Dance Dance Revolution STRIKE last night gave me a headache, so now I finally have an excuse to play my favorite fighting games again, starting with Tekken 4.
Yesterday, I completed Dance Master Mode in Dance Dance Revolution STRIKE in its entirety. Today, I finally set up my brand new PlayStation 2 Slim (NTSC-U/C), and unlike the last one, everything works perfectly. I know I don't say this often, but life is good.
