This was a literal hundred years ago! With the extent of scientific advancement back then, black holes were as likely to exist as they were not to. Doubting their existence could certainly not be a marker of lacking intelligence.

That guy is a fraud even by the silicon valley metric. Not rushing to defend that demographic, but he is not really a fair representative. Nikola trucks were literally a fake product, they had to tow to the top of the hill and release them to film them moving. He's in prison at this very moment.

Star Wars was always about being a flashy bowl of slop. Star Wars gained and kept up its cult following by being nothing more than a space wizard action movie, and there's nothing wrong with this — there's no need to "retcon" depth to the places where there never meant to be any.
