I’ve been teaching for 24 years in a public system and that’s never been a problem. While I could see that happening in private school setting, I can’t say I know of it happening either.

As elementary teachers? Yes. Students tend to give gifts at Christmas and at the end of the school year, here in BC, Canada. Some do, some don’t. When I was a classroom teacher I always said gifts were not necessary. 😊Where are you located?
