If your neighbors don't mind fireplaces, put in a wood stove, damn near zero GHG. If you don't like gathering and prepping firewood and feeding the stove, get a pellet stove. Heat pumps produce slightly less GHG than gas furnaces, but I wouldn't bother unless the rebates pretty much pay for it.

The 2 stroke engine is a lot older than that, IIRC the Saab 2 stroke was based on an even older DKW design. It looks like Fred's patent was for a development of the 2 stroke engine rather than the invention of the 2 stroke.

I don't believe he had any connection to Saab, who last built a 2 stroke over half a century ago.

Fred Jones was our most famous citizen of western Minnesota, he also invented refrigerators for trucks that now provide us with frozen foods year round. He was also an accomplished racing car builder and driver as well as inventor of everything from movie "talkie" technology to radio systems.

These things are legally blind, when one is within range make maximum use of lights and noise to warn it off. Pedestrians and cyclists would be wise to wear reflective clothing and use bright LED lights and handheld horns to ward them off.

Done trans activism since the early 70s, back then the high estimate for trans incidence was 1 in 10,000. We slowly won acceptance because we weren't a threat. At 1 in 100 we become a threat and a business opportunity. At 1 in 10 we're drawing in lotsa wannabes who fail and will hurt our cause!

A mini Loblaws wouldn't surprise me. Back in the 80s they bought National foods, and the Loblaws "L" got rotated 180 degrees and became their trademark. Then they bought Rainbow foods, rotated the "L" 90 degrees clockwise and it became their logo. Then they ran the whole mess into the ground...

Both sides on trans issues are too polarized to consider reasonable arguments. The "well" is thoroughly poisoned, I've given up trans advocacy and work on other issues.

Given that less than 10% of trans people seek surgeries and hormones are cheap, this ain't a crisis. But for the much larger double digit portion of the population that will lose ACA insurance subsidies, this is a crisis!

Not in our democratic party- Trans woman here whose been a dem party official in positions reserved for women for decades. The only problem we've had is political opportunists who become "non binary" for the day to game the system.

Imported heavy trucks have already been tariffed at 25% since the 1960s, which explains why they're all made in the US. Also explains why there's only 4 heavy truck manufacturers in the US and they've been jackin' prices!

Had cars messed with in Minneapolis and St.Paul too. Only problem with NoDaks was a bunch of guys in a Suburban with ND plates waiting for me when I got home, I kept going- May have been a threat or maybe nothing.

I used to live in Minneapolis, but after protections went statewide in '93 I had no need to, other than a short commute to work Nordeast. Minneapolis became such a hassle I moved to rural MN 15 years ago, much safer out here and less problems with city bureacracy.

Notable that most all the signers are metro and especially Minneapolis- That suggests this is more an urban vs. rural feud and pronouns was an easy issue to build the complaint around. It's also notable that several trans DFLers didn't sign on- Again suggesting that pronouns aren't the real issue
