Not once has Dutton said he would lift the government’s Schooling Resource Standard share from 20% to a minimum of 25%. In 2013, the Coalition promised to honour Gonski agreements then ripped them up and cut $30 billion from schools in the 2014 budget.

Full funding means:
- smaller classes
- more support for students with disability
- more resources for schools to respond to behavioural issues and differentiate curriculum for students
- more time for teachers to plan lessons and support students
- capital works upgrades

98% of public schools are not funded to the School Resourcing Standard, identified by Gonski in 2011, as the funding needed to meet the full educational needs of its students and reduce the impact of social disadvantage on educational outcomes.

Those eligible would likely still be in major mortgage stress with high repayments, although significantly reduced by the scheme.

Tbh, I suspect Labor is pretty fine with not implementing this policy, considering the increased cost and opportunity to wedge the Greens on it.
