This entire two year collapse has been the result of the WRU’s long term incompetence and mismanagement. The players - some potentially very good players - have been so poorly served by a union that’s utterly useless.

I grew up with it - my aunt died when I was a year old. She was amazing, capable, fierce and intelligent but there was always a narrative that bad things wouldn’t have happened if she was here. She’d have fixed them somehow. On a personal level it’s part of grief, on a national level it’s delusion.

It feels like the premise for the conspiracy theories rests on a loss of innocence (it’s explicit in JFK) - where everything that followed (Vietnam, Watergate, Church Comm) flows from Kennedy’s death as a deviation in policy, which is utterly false. Everything after 1963 was there before.

If *any* dependent receives *any* form of social protection at any point, you lose your legal status, as drafted. It is sloppy, mad & ludicrously extreme all at once
