@austinflowers.bsky.social Saw them at the Hollywood Palladium when I was in high school. Gorilla Biscuits and 411 opened for them. That was an amazing show.

I think this is exactly right, he is making this tenuous connection between Danny and the Gemstone Emperors and the Lightbringer myth he is planning to introduce in book 2. But he hasn't moved it past Valyria. By book 2 he's probably moved it to Ashaii.

I think this is exactly right, he is making this tenuous connection between Danny and the Gemstone Emperors and the Lightbringer myth he is planning to introduce in book 2. But he hasn't moved it past Valyria. By book 2 he's probably moved it to Ashaii.

Seriously though, the Gemstone Emperors are in Danny's fever dream in the first book. He just hadn't figured out where they were from yet.

@obienator.bsky.social I had been using Fedilab for my Mastodon app, which creating weird threading issues with the Masto-Bsky bridge. Just switch to the main Mastodon app. It seems to be threading much better.
