4-4 at RC Minneapolis. Bummed I lost my last two rounds and missed day 2, but I am happy with our deck choice and build. Appreciate my teammates in the Port City Conclave, and it has been great catching up with old friends. Also have been impressed with the food here.

Fired one last minute bullet in the Duskmourn Arena Direct event this morning. Got there at the buzzer. Meant to cut Dazzling Theater but forgot.

My Innistrad Remastered sealed deck was @bmkibler.bsky.social themed. I won't elaborate any further.

Day 30: Final day, two cards! Foil Lotus Field and reg Nashi, Moon Sage's Scion. I loved everything about the return to Kamigawa. I just noticed the plane references in the packaging, I wonder if every pack did that? This was a really neat product and I hope @magic.wizards.com does it again some day

Day 29, 2021: Elite Spellbinder. I have cast this card many times in various creature decks. Big fan. I always get a little bummed when they reprint an "invitational" card without the original art though, PV is one of the greats.

Day 28, 2020: Shark Typhoon. This card is a great design. I have enjoyed playing this one in control decks. I didn't appreciate Ikoria as much when it came out as I do now.

Day 27, 2019: Emry, Lurker of the Loch. I love Eldraine so much. Definitely one of my all-time favorite planes. Emry is a really awesome design. This art is delightfully creepy.

Day 26, 2018: Arclight Phoenix. I never played this card in other formats, but I did play it a fair bit in Pioneer. However, I am too weak willed to deal with the variance and not tilt. This art is rad.

Day 25, 2017: Nicol Bolas, God-Pharaoh. Another foil! Merry Christmas from the big bad himself. Hour of Devastation is in my top 10 draft sets of all time, loved drafting 4 and 5 color decks.

Day 24, 2016: Foil Thalia, Heretic Cathar. Thalia is one of my favorite characters in Magic, and I have played her in many mono white humans decks in recent years. This version (OG Thalia too) was in the deck I played at the first North American RC in Atlanta a few years back. Believe in the curve.

Day 23, 2015: Dragonlord Ojutai. Silumgar is my homie, but I love all the Tarkir dragons. Love the art on this, nice take on this regal creature.

Day 22, 2014: Good ol Siege Rhino. This era of Standard was so good. This card felt so busted at the time, now it sees no play in anything. But so many of my friends have fond memories of casting this card.

Day 21, 2013: Foil Elspeth, Sun's Champion! I am really stoked this one is foil, because @rebecca-guay.bsky.social is one of my all-time favorite Magic artists, and this art is so nice. I have fond memories of casting this card in cube in UW control decks.

Day 20, 2012: Deathrite Shaman! What a banger. Best one drop of all time? One mana planeswalker? I have had a playset of these forever. Saw no Standard play and I wasn't playing much Modern when they were legal, so I kind of missed the boat on Deathrite. Such a powerful card though.

Day 19, 2011: Foil Birthing Pod. This was a special year for me, the beginning of my "2nd Magic life", where I got back into paper for the first time in years. Changed me forever. Pod is such a cool card, I played a few versions in standard, my favorite being the BG Glissa "Undying Pod" variant.

Day 18, 2010: Sun Titan. In the aforementioned PTQ where I beat GerryT, I lost 3 consecutive win-and-ins to Sun Titan decks, but I can't stay mad at this card. I love the titans. Love this art too.
December 19, 2024 at 3:22 AM
Day 17, 2009: Foil Bloodbraid Elf! I wasn't playing standard during this time, but I love hearing the stories from both Bloodbraid haters and Bloodbraid aficionados. A very powerful card. Lotta elves and elf adjacent cards in this Countdown kit.

Day 16, 2008: Heritage Druid. Huge elves fan, I love everything about this card.
December 16, 2024 at 10:54 PM
Day 15, 2007: Ponder. One time, at a PTQ, playing against GerryT, I pondered into ponder into ponder into Memoricide, naming the Mind Control he didn't know I knew he had (he borrowed them from my friend as secret tech). His eyes got huge and he said "how did you know?", when I told him, he laughed.

Got the shoe pic! Back to back RCQ sealed quals at The Casual Nerd in New Bern, NC. Had some great games with talented opponents. Thanks to my Port City Conclave crew, as always. #portcityconclave

Day 14, 2006: Foil Bogardan Hellkite. Whew this thing terrorized a lot of people back in the day. Seems quaint now. Power creep is real.
December 14, 2024 at 2:44 PM
Day 13, 2005: LET'S GOOOO, foil Lightning Helix. I have cast many Helixes in my day, had no idea this art existed. Once I used a Helix pointed to my opponent's face to help me not die to a Scourge of the Skyclaves, which led to an awkward judge call that eventually went in my favor. Won that game.

Day 12, 2004: Glimpse of Nature. I think elf decks are so cool, and this card has been a part of them for a long time. Love the callback to Kamigawa with the art as well.
December 12, 2024 at 8:12 PM
Day 11, 2003: Chrome Mox in the retro frame with Dan Frazier art!? Yes please. I have mostly played this card in cube over the years. A banger for sure.
December 11, 2024 at 7:43 PM
Day 10, 2002: Foil Genesis. I have nothing to say about this card. I know it was important, but I have no connection to it.
