I can't see the artistic forms I'm getting wrong. It looks like a fine... critter. It's just not a raptor, and I'm not sure what I need to change to make it look right.
I'm generally fine technically, but I do sometimes struggle artistically, and this is a perfect example of that.

I'm currently trying to build a new raptor head in Blender that's a bit more expressive (for VRC and a mask), using my Telegram stickers as inspiration (a selection below)... and I'm getting frustrated. It just doesn't look raptory, and I don't know why.

It's too big and expensive for me unfortunately! But wow, what a find 😛 (shame he's a bit ugly)

I've been sleeping unusually badly for about a week. I don't have anything obvious on my mind, but I'm struggling to fully relax, and stay asleep.
I'm not sure why. I don't have any obvious new major anxieties...

Now for something a bit more fun, finally - v2 fox!
In many ways, this is much better than my previous one. But in some ways, it's worse, and there's still areas I'm unhappy with. Still, a good learning experience.
I will make another head on this system, but I'm not 100% sure what yet...

I've just noticed my cake of Mehron greasepaint has a typo on the label... I wonder if that means it's counterfeit? I did get it from Amazon after all...

Making a huge mess, and I'm not even doing anything big. I just have no useful workspace. And I have to tidy all of it up at the end of the day, as it's filling my bedroom and office.

I finally got around to taking some photos since adding the whiskers. I do think they add a nice detail, but I'm surprised by how subtle they look on camera...
Yay/nay? Thoughts? It's my first time doing whiskers!
(I've also finally ordered new fur for v2, looking forward to fixing everything..!)

They're definitely mixed quality, some are nicer than others. But the crossed out ones are particularly cheap-feeling.
The others I think are fine for personal projects, but I don't think I'd use some of them if it was a commission.

I also transferred this monster (see the size difference with the top shelf) from a large flower pot full of compacted mud. No styling yet. Also took off quite a few roots, but I'm less worried about this one - lonicera are apparently hard to kill, hopefully this isn't the exception though..!

Oh yes! I only have... two maples, a little deshojo and a larger trident. I repotted the deshojo into a pond basket today, as I want to grow it on more.
This was the one I'm concerned about, a Chinese juniper. It needs refinement but it has potential, so long as it survives..!
