we have those guys - but not enough to fill PF/C 48 minutes a game. and as a result, the proof is in the pudding (their terrible rebounding, defense, worst assist numbers in the league, etc). if it did make sense, they'd be better.

their big FA get last season - after the title - was torrey craig. they made no moves. i just don't see it even next year. giving jordan walsh more seasoning isn't going to make him as good as jake laravia (who ironically would be a good fit for boston because he doesn't play defense)

i think overestimating these 11th/12th guys as rotation guys Because Joe/Brad Likes Them has been a problem for a few seasons, and has led to being emotional over rational. the celtics chose to keep sam hauser over aaron nesmith.

i kinda disagree. minott, walsh, and hugo are playing rotation minutes for the utah jazz, not for the lakers (or really any good team). maybe for the blazers?

if you're doing this 2025-26 team with these guys plus tatum, they're still not great. the knicks, cavaliers, nuggets have all filled their benches with quality cheap veterans. boston hasn't. why is that, exactly?

you've got role players being given more minutes, but to this point, nobody has stood out. on top of the rebounding issues, they're last in FT attempts and 29th in assists... on a team where guards are their best players. i think that's a joe problem.

to me, it's hard to reassemble useful pieces once the teardown has started. even before tatum's injury, the capheads saw that jrue / hauser (that was the name put into blogs) would need to leave. jrue is evidently not washed, and neither is KP. i guess i don't see them being great next year either.

is sam hauser really on a good contract? he’s playing like 20 minutes a game and hasn’t shot well this season.

oh, brad stinks too. i expect he’s the victim of new financial constraints but trading for simons instead of a big (when they were losing their entire big rotation) was dumb as hell. i expect the league never thought much of pritchard or hauser and that’s why they stuck around

he’s like the easiest coach in the league to outmaneuver in crunchtime. he does like 1 play just swapped depending on the side of the floor.

watched that whole game. good defense from walsh (who benefited from an embiid-less game), but like… boston has an awful, unwatchable half-court offense. if the end of the fourth is even somewhat close, it always turns iso-heavy. i hate this shit.
