Found a bumble bee napping in my milkweed this morning

I've long been intimidated by sweaters but the raglan patterns on tin can knits have become my new hyper focus 🧶

Nothing else quite brings our pets together in peace like a good sunbeam.

We brought some new friends home today.

Won a raffle at my local yarn shop including a skein of something called fishnet bulky (cotton thread is wrapped around the wool) so I decided to learn brioche with it. The result reminds me of stained glass windows. 🧶

Got a text from @talcotts.bsky.social just checking in on how I'm doing. I responded with this.
If you want to log off but you can't sleep I suggest making some terrible art. Because you can't doom scroll when you're hot gluing stuff to other stuff.

I’d like to have a conversation with whoever was in charge of creating the definition of “minimal”

I had a real “living in a college town” kind of moment while wearing my bespoke Maintenance Phase merch. Another parent at a kid’s birthday party said to me, “I couldn’t help but notice your vest. What kind of methodologies are you into?”

And they were roommates.

My husband was utterly unprepared for what he would see when I said, hey look what I made!

This picture does not do justice to the number of pollinators that were on this goldenrod. There were 8 or 9 different species hanging out having a snack.

A garden friend nibbled the bottom of this butternut squash and since it wasn’t storable I made it into yard art (at least until it inevitably goes to the compost pile).

In related News this is coming along nicely but also I’m very hungry.

I’ve tried a lot of different masks to find one that doesn’t make me feel overstimulated after a while and it turns out adding the little neck fan mostly solved the problem. Plus it makes me feel like I’m a Star Trek species who needs this apparatus to breathe this atmosphere.

I forgot the curtains in the garage at home when I collapsed the wagon to pack it because adhd. But I went to the not actually a dollar store and improvised a solution.

I’m taking my kids to a Renn faire and I added these curtains to their wagon both to be on theme but also so I can give the baby a darker place to nap and the big one a sensory calm down spot if it gets overwhelming. How do I get an adult size of this for myself?

This cat followed us home on our walk last night. We emailed the neighborhood listserv to find his people and there were no fewer than 30 messages about who else he has visited this weekend. It was so wholesome. (The cat’s people were located and he made it home).

Late stage capitalism is like, “We maximized our SEO to be the first result when you look for emergency information. Want to find out if you need to flee your home? Sign up to find out!”

(Also for the record I am fine and not in Florida, I was checking if a coworker was in the evac area)

I saw a tiktok that said you can turn any blob into a cat with ears and a tail (and optionally, limbs). Can confirm this is both correct and that I’m obsessed with drawing them.

Butternut squash from my garden. Pickling cucumbers for scale.

I’m so excited by how much I’ve been able to transform just this little bit of my yard from monocrop lawn to native wildflowers (and a jackolantern pumpkin my kid planted) in only one season.
