I much prefer em dashes to other less emphatic punctuation

I didn’t hate it. It wasn’t my favorite book of the year so far but I would definitely recommend it to others especially those that like pirate stories.

I don’t know that leaking training manuals is all that big a deal. Pretty sure you can get copies via whatever states foia equivalent is.
