Loves ale drinking, everything associated with independent brewing and historic pubs. Also (prog) rock, cycling, football, rugby, heritage, culture and history.
I'll dig them out

We're trying to decide whether bands played upstairs or downstairs. I'm sure I remember humping gear upstairs with someone taking entrance money at the top of the stairs

I bought two cases of 12 in 2022 and I've one bottle left. I'm waiting for a very special occasion to drink it. Norwich City winning the FA cup. Trump being convicted. Or something equally momentous!

Ah, this is where my claim falls to the ground. Apart from ZZ Top and Zak Wylde, there's no possible way of answering that argument, I'm afraid
I was only hoping you would not make that particular point, but I can see you're more than a match for me!

Marillion
Metallica
Motorhead
Mike Rutherford
Manic Street Preachers.

I can probably do 5 for every letter of the alphabet!

I know a few people who attended that gig. It was amazing apparently. In the early 70s there was at least one major headline act a week in Norwich. Yes, Floyd, Tull, Colosseum, Caravan. @camself.bsky.social and I were just a few years too young!

Gallagher really rates it apparently

Interesting to learn that Thwaites is still going strong, having built a new brewery 3 miles outside Blackburn. They sold Wainwright and Bomber to Carlsberg Marstons but retained other beers, and seem to have retained their tied pub estate.

Sadly no longer brewed locally. Goodness knows where Carlsberg brew it these days!

I can only discern, from the howls of protest, that the privilege of queuing for 2 hours at EU passport control, was a hard won Brexit benefit. I don't recall Jacob Rees-Chump celebrating this huge achievement whilst Brexit Benefits Minister. I must have missed that, amongst all the other prizes.

Sorry to hear that, send Nicky our best wishes

I want Farridge and his supporters howling with rage and indignation. Not cheering from the rafters. Unless he backtracks on this bollocks I'm done with him and Labour.

I stayed at the adjacent Stoker's Cottage a couple of years ago. Had the privilege of a private tour of the engine. Brilliant.

As if the USA doesn't already produce enough shite.

No, I think he means it. I also think he means his second term is going to be indefinite.

Fear of a Blank Planet by Porcupine Tree. Some brilliant stuff before that, some less so. For me it's their pinnacle and one of my favourite albums of all time

And Farridge would have us importing US food. Even our government is flirting with the idea of a trade deal that could see us flooded with cheap crap food. Whereas we have a fantastic source of quality products on our doorstep, not to mention our own producers. What a time to be alive.
