Loves ale drinking, everything associated with independent brewing and historic pubs. Also (prog) rock, cycling, football, rugby, heritage, culture and history.
My beer stock is running a little low, but it still contains a few highlights with which to enjoy a Boxing Day film. I'll need to get over to Bishop's Castle next year to stock up! This wonderful, strong porter is one of my top 10 beers.

@simoninsuffolk.bsky.social @camself.bsky.social a rather fine church in Stow, Lincolnshire. Perhaps you know it. Victorianised for sure but some extraordinary Saxon and Norman surviving features.

We're veterans of many Landmark Trust properties but this time elected to try a National Trust place. The Souter Lighthouse near South Shields. We are not disappointed.

For some reason, I'm reminded of dear old Comical Ali today.

Three recent trips to create the best bottled beer selection I've had for a while. Finally got to Beers of Europe near kings Lynn, where I filled up with Weltenburger Klosterbier. Then Booths in Ilkley for an amazing selection of northern beers. Then on to Harvey's and Long Man breweries in Sussex.
