@duke-of-neural.bsky.social
(he/him) life scientist, gene therapy, viruses, vaccines, antibody-drug-conjugates, live cell 3D imaging, microscopy, machine learning, cultivated meat, and now Alzheimer's, ALS, and TBI. Also I'm more of a biochemist than I was on twitter. Also running.
A full two hours of working to get a doctor's appointment and I have finally succeeded in making one three weeks from now.
I never want to hear another fucking word about how socialized medicine is inefficient. Capitalism is inefficient and also expensive.

I think Ds should ask for the firing of RFK in the budget negotiations. It's a big, easily understandable ask, which would massively benefit the American ppl, and I think it would split the gop, many of whom want rfk gone anyway. www.everythingishorrible.net/p/demand-the...

Due to state budget cuts getting passed along (i.e., fewer TA slots to backstop 5-y funding guarantee), our Department is strictly limiting recruitment. Even folks w/ multiple grants are being told to wait til next year. Grad school top-up fellowships are suspended as well.

Silver staining is awesome. If anyone has any suggestions for how I can improve his purification to make this silver stain less stainey, please do tell. I'm just happy I got bands.

Since leaving Twitter, the most notable event is that we got the world's laziest dog.
Highly recommend Anatolian Shepherds, they are redonkulous.

I miss the golden age of science twitter.
I hear it's here now, so why not? I went back to academic research from biotech industry, so clearly I'm in my "back to the future" phase of life.
