A non partisan Citizens’ Assembly on Electoral Reform would give BC a trusted path to design a proportional system that reflects the province’s values. 10/10

Parties keep talking about early elections because our voting system rewards them for gambling.

When you can win all the power with just 30% to 40% of the vote, why wait?

Proportional representation would end these power plays and make cooperation the norm.

Doug Ford’s government keeps getting caught up in scandal after scandal.

Yet, first past the post keeps rewarding him with majority power on a minority of votes.

With proportional representation, no party could get away with that kind of unearned control.

Reminder: every top-ranked country for workers’ rights in the 2025 ITUC Global Rights Index uses proportional representation.

Happy Canada Day! 🇨🇦

Today we celebrate democracy, but let’s also reflect on how we can make it stronger.

Most Canadians still don’t see their vote reflected in Parliament. It’s time for proportional representation so every vote counts and every election matters.

This exchange in Parliament matters.

@jennykwan.bsky.social made the case for proportional representation.

@kayabagaarielle.bsky.social expressed support.

Now let’s turn that support into action for a stronger democracy.

Pierre Trudeau saw how much of a threat first-past-the-post was to Canadian unity, and today that threat is more present than ever.

It’s time to honour his vision by implementing proportional representation.

It’s time to demand change.

Why these predatory delays on social housing aren't human rights challenges are beyond me.
The wealthy Kits homeowner coalition seems to have won its legal battle against the desperately needed Arbutus supportive housing project.

This is what I’m talking about when I say zoning should be abolished. It’s weaponized by the rich to exclude the poor. That is the MAIN use case!

In 2018, I asked Gregor Robertson four times if he bore any responsibility for Vancouver's housing crisis after being mayor for a decade.

Four times, he said no.

I wonder if he'll feel any responsibility going forward.

This report speaks loudly about the housing challenges many British Columbians face in today's economy.
In 2024, 21,502 households were on the BC Housing Registry for social housing’s waitlist — a 14 per cent increase since 2023, with seniors and families in the greatest need. 🧑‍🦳👨‍👩‍👧‍👧

First-past-the-post is failing voters. It fuels division, strategic voting, and regional shutouts—while pushing Canada closer to U.S.-style hyperpolarization.

Regardless of Monday’s outcome, Albertan Liberals and Urban Conservatives will be massively underrepresented under first-past-the-post.

If we want true unity, we need proportional representation—where your vote equals your voice.

Imagine spending years claiming proportional representation would give extremists a platform—only to now insist everyone must vote for you because you say the other side has been taken over by extremists and could win a majority with just 40% of the vote.

We won't forget this.

PP is totally ignoring the legitimate Indigenous claim on federal lands as part of ongoing treaty discussions.
Selling off federal lands for home building — as Poilievre wants to do — is a bad idea. Keeping them and building affordable homes on — as the NDP wants to do — is a good idea.
