As a former "ultimate" player. It's the name of the sport. Played with an Ultimate Disc. Which is a frisbee, but we couldn't call it that because it's trademarked and everyone used a non frisbee brand of discs.
But it's still wrong as "Ultimate Frisbee Disc" doesn't get around the issue...

But to put an arbitrary delay for first push when the lights haven't been used for a while makes zero sense to me. Overall flow remains unchanged, you just make peds wait / risk it instead.

Disagree. What's the point of making pedestrians wait? If the lights have just changed, sure make the next set of pedestrians wait a full cycle - keep traffic flowing.
