The elves have been incredibly busy over the last few weeks transforming the inside of the 11th century castle into Santa’s Grotto as we get set to welcome him back to the zoo on Saturday.

Our female great grey owl, Ursula, was spotted enjoying a pamper session as she washed herself in the shallow pool – watch how the 18-year-old uses her wings to flick water onto herself.

Our female great grey owl, Ursula, was spotted enjoying a pamper session as she washed herself in the shallow pool – watch how the 18-year-old uses her wings to flick water onto herself.
When keepers delivered boiled eggs for our two six-banded armadillos’ breakfast, Jude, our cheeky sloth wanted to know where hers was – as she came down from her branch to investigate!
