We have severely lost the plot! This coordination and cooperation with Trump to target DC residents is dangerous, unacceptable and violates our Sanctuary Values Act! I’m disgusted that we would abandon our values and our people in this way. Stand for something! Defend our values!

Aparna is both a tenant and labor organizer - need more of those people on city councils. check out the launch video
People are being forced out of DC. The cost of living is too high, and Trump is waging an all-out assault on the District.

It should be easier and more affordable to build a life here.

That's why I’m running for DC Council in Ward 1.

@wtopnews.bsky.social your segment just now about the DC budget and Mendo’s plan for tipped workers is so incorrect and completely misses the point. Cutting wages from $10 to $8 is a pay CUT not a raise. Horrible journalism

🧵DSA must change into something strong enough to meaningfully influence politics on the scale of the next presidential election, potential general strike, and whatever other national ruptures may come.

So this convention, we must become a DSA For All.

🤜Seize State Power: Only the state can operate at the speed and scale to transform our economy from an engine of extinction to a tool of liberation. Giving up on state power is just giving up, consigning the global working class to ecocidal suffering and death unseen.

🌹DSA Will Be The Party: DSA built the only mass socialist organization in the US because of things only DSA can do, not in spite of them. Our public reach, formal political power, & ability to turn ordinary people into organizers give us unique potential to build the mass party.

This week, organizing got the goods. But DC is still under attack by the fascist government in the White House and collaborators in Congress -- from firing federal workers to ICE raids to the cuts to essential services nationwide in today’s CR. It's time. #DCStatehood now!

Hundreds of DC residents, from school children to grandmothers, flooded the halls of the Capitol every day this week demanding DC's autonomy be respected. Thousands more wrote and called House and Senate offices insisting that DC's local dollars be spent by DC's local government.

Today the Senate passed a continuing resolution that cuts DC’s budget by over $1 billion of our own tax dollars. Then they passed a bill to restore our budget, which now goes back to the House. But DC isn't a line item, and Congress shouldn't be playing politics with our city.

It may not be cool or hip in some circles, but we legitimately do need a massive amount of people to run for office.

Flood the school boards, councils, county seats, state legislatures, Congress, etc.

Big changes at the top happen when the ground shifts at the bottom. And that can start now.
