Steam Frame is the VR headset. Said to use UFS storage which I don't know if it can interface with M.2 or if it's always soldered.
November 13, 2025 at 12:39 AM
Well, technically the Frame includes the HMD, controllers (2x) and dongle, so it's actually six hardware reveals.
November 13, 2025 at 12:34 AM
My personal guess is 799 for the 256GB and 899 for the 1TB model.

Hoping for replaceable SSD.
November 13, 2025 at 12:32 AM
I'm selling both my Index and Steam Deck for the Frame.

I REALLY hope the tracking doesn't shit the bed when I'm on a moving train, or I can at least set the 2D screen to follow (not ideal, but manageable)
November 13, 2025 at 12:29 AM
And for perspective, the most price-worthy HMDs are the Meta Quest 3 at $499 and Pico 4 at $420
Both very much limited, doesn't have FR, uncomfortable, nausea-inducing PC streaming.

For PCVR, the closest thing is the Beyond 2 at $999 and it ONLY does PCVR (albeit amazingly well, though tethered)
November 13, 2025 at 12:26 AM
The versatility you get with this HMD is insane and has been dreamed about since the very first Oculus Rift.

And also, Valve said it would be "slightly lower" than the Index, which was $799 for HMD+Controllers and $999 for the entire kit (+basestations (req)).

I do not see it going lower than $799

This thing has:
Flawless wireless streaming.
Foveated rendering (FR)
Is modular and upgradable.
Built for comfort.
144Hz.
Is ARM-based and can can do x86 VR-GAMING
Is rumored to have an expandable module in the works for even more performance.
Can do 2D (again, x86)-gaming.
Can run APKs as well.

More like started out promising, quickly got worse, got really good again, then took a nosedive.

They have been leaked!
November 12, 2025 at 5:41 PM
If they add proper tiling now that COSMIC is gaining more hype I'll probably switch back to Plasma (again).
November 12, 2025 at 5:48 AM
This is definitely a welcome change that I was sure would never happen based on what KDE has previously said.

Hope they expand it to support per-monitor desktop like most WMs.
It's the primary reason I use Hyprland (and tiling ofc, and also Quickshell is a very recent reason).

What Google is doing to Android/AOSP is nothing short of a disgrace.
Very excited for your new official phone with whatever OEM it is, but I REALLY wish there was another real FOSS competitor to Android/IOS (that wasn't a fork of AOSP), just to minimize the damage a duopoly could cause.

Unless they reflect all light enough to completely hide the entire face, they're kinda useless.

And obviously they could only affect cameras so you don't blind everyone else for just looking in your general direction.

Except Circle of Life, that one was a bitch.
And the lock one hurt my brain.

Ah shit, here we go again...
Wish I could undo achievement progress so I could 100% it again

2 year delay is still really impressive in rocketry.

It feels like the reverse Sense8, without spoiling too much (if anyone remember that show).

Looking forward to what future episodes bring.

I don't blame you, the guy is known to spreading complete BS and when he's called out for it he says "lol it was just a joke bro".

Sometimes I really wish bluesky had community notes.
