I'm just a humble country lawyer trying to do the best I can against the big-time city folk so I can enjoy movies, horrors & my obsession with physical media.
I got an expert to talk about what I've been coughing up.

'Television of the Dead' from Creepshow season 2 is still a favourite, it's just Bob Ross VS Evil Dead.

Bigger & bloodier, "Sisu: Road to Revenge" keeps the spirit of its predecessor with its genre mash up of gritty war films & Spaghetti Westerns while ramping up the Looney Tunes mass murder. It's a successful sequel from Jalmari Helander & maybe Aatami Korpi can finally rest now.

Society lost its way when it stopped focusing on the black guy & white guy teaming up to fight evil.

If "The Running Man" is more of a faithful adaptation of the novel, then I'd rather not read it as I never expected to see something so soulless from Edgar Wright. No fault of Glen Powell, but he's nearly surpassed by Katy O'Brian, Colman Domingo & Josh Brolin.

A classic story about a starman waiting in the sky. He'd like to come and meet us, but he thinks he'd blow our minds.

A nice early delivery today from HMV. The @signatureuk.bsky.social Blu-ray release of one of my favourite films this year, the insanely fun "The Toxic Avenger".

Tonight on Unsolved Mysteries. We're looking into the last known sighting of the band on the run, who remain at large. Someone somewhere knows the answer, perhaps that person is watching tonight & perhaps it's you.

Osgood Perkins' "Keeper" felt like a slow descent into a Grimm's tale that's grasping for air in discomfort. I found myself drawn into the claustrophobia of Perkins' style & imagery, while Tatiana Maslany goes full on embracing her role.

It's rare for me to say a film got under my skin, yet Lynne Ramsay's "Die My Love" did. It’s as chaotic as it is haunting & it's up there with the best of the year. Jennifer Lawrence's performance is raw & terrific.

I'm conflicted with "Predator: Badlands" it lacked the thrill of the hunt, yet there's some entertainment. I liked Dek's journey & some of the action. While I liked Elle Fanning's dual roles, her heel turn as Tessa & Thia who came off like Joan Cusack in Toys, got too much.
