The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics has a staggeringly difficult job.
It must deliver timely, representative, reliable info about an enormous, diverse set of U.S. labor market participants.
It must do it in a transparent, consistent, & privacy-preserving way over time.

Government shutdowns cause weekly hurricane-like economic damage to national GDP, and some lost businesses are not permanently restored. Those who irresponsibly insist on government shutdowns that harm workers as a problem that can be addressed by departmental reforms should be held accountable.
