It’s another exciting day as Luas Finglas has just been granted planning permission 🎉🥳🎊

The conditions also require stronger consideration for protected junctions and safer cycling along the entire route as well

Another huge step for Dublin’s public transport network

Buried at the back of an article - current Director of the Irish Car Park Association; David Cullen admits they were wrong about the #TransportPlan

“We’ve been embarrassed to say we got it wrong… some of our car parks are busier than ever”

Somebody might want to tell the Assistant Secretary at the Dept of Transport, that Primary Legislation was passed last year

Minister for State Sean Canney can make 30kph the Default today if he wanted…

After 3 years in the planning process; MetroLink has been APPROVED!!!

This is a major hurdle to get passed and a HUGE day for public transport!!

“There is no back-pedalling on 30kph urban speed limits” - Minister Sean Canney

If that was true, then it would have been implemented already; the same way that 80->60 was earlier this year

Please join us at 10:30 outside the Dail this morning to demand safer Urban road speeds
October 2, 2025 at 6:40 AM
Please join us on Thursday morning at 10:30am for a Rally at Leinster House with @Love30

None of these routes are moving through the proposed pedestrian area on College Green according to the maps

The blatant denialism around the work already completed for the Herbert road junction is beyond frustrating

The N11/M11 bill is over €3m on design & consultation so far

If the Tanaiste would like to “see the detailed work”, he could just Google it:

The Crowe report into the RPU has been released and there’s some incredible admissions in it

• ANPR not working in 30% of vehicles
• Checkpoints too close to depot’s
• Some staff blatantly not performing duties
• Supervisors hindered Policy issues

Every single time Ireland is developing new public Transport infrastructure, the same group of Billionaires & Politicians come out of the woodwork & call it a “White Elephant”

You’re not dismissed because your rich

You’re dismissed because you’re wrong

We’re expecting the Liffey Valley BusConnects contract to be signed today, but they seem to be pushing forward with a design that does not have planning permission

The new layout is dangerous, has less bus priority & makes a complete mockery of the planning process
July 31, 2025 at 9:41 AM
We’ve read the NDP Review and we’re amazed how a document whose sole function is to lay out funding commitments, can be so non-committal about what it’s funding

€24.33b in funding for transport & only €2b is explained

No mention of Dart+, Luas, or BusConnects 🤷

Similar to Option 3 - Option 4 also has a service road which extends along the various access points but requires the junction 7 overpass to be redesigned & rebuilt

4 would give access to Herbert Road, but is very disruptive & expensive to build & could temporarily close the N11
July 9, 2025 at 4:06 PM
Option 3 creates a parallel service road after the fassaroe exit for the residents

It does make the bus less efficient but was progressed for further assessment and is closest to the preferred design
July 9, 2025 at 4:06 PM
Options 2 & 2a aimed to introduce a new slip road, giving access to the residents that would have lost them in Option 1

2A also had a bridge to Herbert road from the Enniskerry road, but was deemed not feasible for road alignment and geometry reasons
July 9, 2025 at 4:06 PM
Seven different options were prepared to maximize the access points, these three were options 1, 1A, & 1B

Option 1 closed residential access off the N11 and so was discarded
July 9, 2025 at 4:06 PM
Here is the breakdown from the 394 page report which identifies the key issues at the Herbert Road entrance

• Visibility is poor
• Spacing between the junction is poor
• Junction presents conflicts between buses and turning traffic
• Doesn’t comply with standards
July 9, 2025 at 4:06 PM
Tanaiste Simon Harris continues to spread nonsense about the N11/M11, now calling it “insane” despite it being in the PfG

A second consultant agency is now being engaged to tell us what the first (Arup) already told us - Herbert Road as it currently is, needs to close
