Let me explain the stakes and how we got here.

Devastating doesn't begin to cover it. Kellyanne states 'get a job' if you need medicaid - 4 of 10 children in the US are on Medicaid, I'm a nursing home medicaid caseworker - none of my clients are able to work - this is an AGIST and ABLEIST policy
VP Vance has cast the deciding vote in the Senate to cut Medicaid, take away food assistance, blow up the deficit, and add tax breaks for the wealthiest.

This bill is unpopular because it is wrong.

Congress votes this week, but it’s our voices - and our votes - that will have the final say.

This is a list of hospitals at risk of closure if Trump's big beautiful budget bill is passed - this will have massive impact, not just people on Medicaid/care, but also the people who work and provide care to some of our most marginalized communities

It's so hard to not feel insane. But then I speak to someone who is serving in the trenches, feet on the ground, whose opinion and experiences mean more to me than the others' who have never left their hometown, who are mired in ignorance, prejudice and hate. I am not the one who is insane.

I knew I couldn't go through this again but on only day 4 of this administration I'm fully understanding the extent to which I cannot go through this again.

For the last 5-7 years TikTok has seen me through a pandemic, job upheavals, a devastating election loss, my father's cancer diagnosis and treatment, a cancer scare of my own, depression, anxiety, and a million other little losses. Some days it was my only friend.
