#XPNCountdown got me constantly thinking - and playing - my Next 15: the covers I love that just didn't quite make my grand Top 10 ballot. This is a pleasant problem to stew in.

Sad news to hear about the passing of Brian Wilson. Mike V is playing all Beach Boys and Brian solo music until 2pm; Dan Reed will be playing 2 hours of them from 4p-6p today. What's a favorite Beach Boys song you'd like us to play?

First heard "Beautiful Day" in 2002 with my dad. Saw it live several times with my mom. It feels deeply connected to sacred times with others. Made music feel like looking through a telescope. #XPNCountdown

Really hoping for more Philly love for @stvincent.music-social.com.ap.brid.gy in the #XPNCountdown, an artist who, IMHO, is one of the most inventive + awe-inspiring songwriters / guitarists / producers of the past 20 years. Half of Strange Mercy or All Born Screaming could justifiably make the 885.
