Tired of hearing how UK gov will be pandering to Trump in order to avoid further trade problems. However, having heard he's getting met at the airport by Yvette Cooper, maybe that's punishment enough

No, Trump. You are completely allowed to sell US cars in the EU, but no one wants them. They're too big, too polluting and cost too much in fuel. Fix that, and they'll get bought.

On 22 January, GB News presenter Josh Howie repeated a homophobic slur linking the LGBTQ+ community to paedophilia. This is offensive, wrong and unlawful. Join me and @GoodLawProject to file a complaint to Ofcom  action.goodlawproject.org/ofcom-stop-g...
Ofcom, stop GB News broadcasting hate
*CW: Homophobia, hate speech GB News is no stranger to spouting hatred and toxic lies. They take pride in it, and pretend the rules don’t matter. But they do. And they must be enforced. On 22 January,...

The state of the world is so distressing that friends and beloved companions are such an important part of our wellbeing. Lucas is such a good boy cos he doesn't like water so baths are a chore for him, but he accepts them and is very well behaved. This is after his first in 5 months due to his...

So excited for this to arrive. I first met Anna when I worked at Battersea Arts Centre and she is a wonderful person. And then she published her first book and it was one of the best I've ever read; I don't think a book had ever moved me to tears before. Everyone I've recommended or gifted it to...

Please Allies, rethink "support trans rights" as your default position.

In the US, UK and elsewhere, trans *rights* are in the dumpster and no amount of Posting is going to fix it.

Support trans *survival* because a lot of us aren't going to make it without significant, maybe risky, material help.

Tom is one of the most wonderful people on the planet.
January 18, 2025 at 5:29 PM
At my friend Tom's 45th birthday party at the pub and drinking my first full-fat coke in years. Whew! Soooooo sweet. Mental note never to do this again.

It's 3° out but this mum has her younger child (7ish?) in shorts. Maybe he's adopted from Newcastle?

Mr Lynch. One of the few individuals for whom the word iconic is accurately attributable
January 16, 2025 at 6:56 PM
Dear wonderful David Lynch. You were a legend and changed my life, opening my mind to so much more.
I'll never forget the end of Episode 14, and sitting in darkness and silence trying to take it all in, as a teenager, always watching Twin Peaks on my own after everyone else had gone to bed. RIP ❤️❤️

If you're struggling with transport today, storms, general malaise, whatever, here is a picture of a dog supremely contented with his lot because he has a bed and a fleecy blanket. I am now going to spend some time being like Lucas and appreciating the comfort of this moment.

Always have some appropriate Christmas decorations for your tree...
December 2, 2024 at 6:08 PM
Time to get the Christmas tree up, but I think I have just enough energy to hang a bauble on a twig.

And someone else needs to fetch the bauble.

And the twig.

I'm on leave this week and just realised I have not left the house since getting home last Thurs eve from work.

That's a holiday; complete segregation from any form of interaction with strangers.

Piss off and take your man-bun with you.

Massive props to France for rebuilding Notre Dame so fantastically in just 5 years, with contributions from across the country. If that had been Westminster Abbey, the UK would still be considering which architect to appoint and might have recently finished a tent over the wreckage.
