To be crystal clear, Mastro would *never* issue this executive order without the go ahead from mayor Adams. This is beyond being a Trump lackey, as Adams’ agenda during his tenure as Mayor has ALWAYS been to criminalize and lock up everyday New Yorkers.
NEW: City Hall says Mayor Eric Adams is recusing himself from deciding whether to allow ICE on Rikers, to avoid the appearance of a quid pro quo. First Deputy Mayor Randy Mastro will handle it instead.

Now… while it maybe SHOULD have been on my 2025 bingo card, Elon doing that thing he did on MLK Jr. Day was not. In hindsight, it should have been foreseeable.
