The DOJ, ICE, HSI mindset is that any protest against the administration is criminal.

The Constitution doesn't matter.

Laws don't matter.

Due process-- what's that?

I can support that idea. But nationwide people are just choosing to drill ever deeper wells. Nobody's thinking about sustainability.

its face

The god of the Bible (Yahweh) is NOT a god of mercy and justice

I'm all for mentioning the Bible in public schools-- so long as we're willing to tell the truth about it. How can you talk meaningfully about the Reformation, for example, without mentioning the Bible?

Jesus could not possibly have been the Messiah

Jesus could not possibly have been the Son of God

The story of the creation is wrong in every significant respect

The story of the flood is preposterous on

The two biggest problems with these massive data centers are: (1) electrical power; and (2) water.

We could pass legislation to require them to provide their own renewable energy. But what do you do about water?

Q: why does the stock market continue to make new highs at a time of rising inflation and falling job numbers?

A: CEOs believe AI will enable them to eliminate 40% of their HR costs. How? By FIRING 40% of their workers.

That's not modernization. It's wholesale destruction of the labor market.

advancing our knowledge on each of these fronts.

I see no reason to believe that slurping up everything on the Internet and bolting it to a LLM is going to resolve ANY of these problems.

So I view the expected arrival of a superintelligence with the same skepticism I reserve for the Rapture.

I believe that all of the above problems are worthy of investigation. A "superintelligence" SHOULD be capable of meaningfully

How best to improve the health and welfare of every person on the planet

How to reduce the spread of disinformation via social media

How to cure congenital diseases

How to bring quantum mechanics and general relativity into alignment

How to optimize traffic

bogus national emergencies.

And when Congress simply refuses to claw back power from POTUS, that's changing the system too.

The Constitution has been thrown out the window, the rule of law is in tatters, and the GOP is hell bent on establishing one party rule.

Seems like change to me.

Beg to differ.

Having DOGE destroy entire agencies and fire thousands of federal employees is changing the system.

So is ICE thumbing its nose at due process.

So is SCOTUS issuing orders on the shadow docket with no discussion.

So is Trump issuing a zillion EOs on the basis of dozens of

It's not just Bartiromo. How about Rubio, who sat on a Senate committee that found the investigation into RUSSIA RUSSIA RUSSIA was well predicated. Or J.D. Vance, who once called Trump America's Hitler. Or Lindsey Graham, who once called Trump a jackass.

We can go on and on with lists like this...

If you believe that women should be trusted to decide about abortion then you can't compromise with those who believe that abortion should be illegal in all or most cases.

Compromise with extremists only results in bad policies and bad outcomes.

Well at least the GOP is no longer being coy about their eagerness to establish a one party state.

Maybe the American people are awakening to their fascist intentions.

I don't agree that a bicameral legislature is necessarily counter-majoritarian. If we have 2 houses in Congress they should represent orthogonal subsets of the national character. What we have today doesn't do that. But that doesn't mean that it would be impossible.

Here's my thoughts:

85% of American citizens live in urban areas today. When the Constitution was ratified it was 5%.

We need a Congress that fairly represents the character of the American people. Here are some thoughts about that:
