It really is just one baffling decision after another with this new era! This really should have been a story arc in the adjective-less X-men book rather than a line-wide crossover.

Another instance (same semester, different class), a girl wanted to write about why trans people shouldn’t be able to compete in college sports

I told her that it wasn’t a morally strong argument to make, but she didn’t care. Ultimately though she did change her topic

Said student tried to go above me to the director of the department, who told me that it was my job to convince her not to write the paper for else give her a 0. Absolutely no support.

I was able to sway her from the topic but she wasn’t a great writer anyway and got a C, as I recall
