It is not the job of higher education to pay for national priorities such as biomedical, scientific, and engineering research. That is a goal of the nation as a whole.

If you want a strong nation, you have to pay for a strong nation. It can't be outsourced.

Thanks. It was a labor of love and work I started as a postdoc. Along the way we learnt: tools are hard to build and given the cell heterogeneity you are often wrong. Thanks to Gerry for getting it all together. It has been an amazing journey and I anticipate data mining for years to come.

Important paper and primer but would be great to include discussion of paper showing new split-GAL4 lines for not only dfb but other CX lines (Wolff et al 2025, ELife). As role of dfb subsets comes into focus it's important to consider high interconnectedness with other CX cell classes.
