Its been stressful as I worry about how we will sustain our research program. But a spontaneous coffee sesh at 3pm with my 5 masters students made me forget everything for a bit. We discussed science, kids, best shows on netflix. Grateful for this community, also Preprints are coming, so watch out.

And once again we are in top 15 based on California Mobility Index that evaluates institutions on the proportion of low- and moderate-income students they enroll AND the return on investment they provide within the state of California.

Among all the gloom and doom I want to celebrate last weekend when 18 teachers from Bay Area high schools showed up at my lab@CSUEB to manipulate neurons (thermo/optogenetics), data mine the flywire datasets and develop hypothesis about neural basis of behavior.
