Bakshish to let a visitor in to a tomb, etc, has a long history in Egypt, but the same kind of culture around letting people into spaces in Mexico doesn’t really exist. Who knows what could work, but I wouldn’t try to get into Pacal’s tomb with a “tip.”

Hmm, I haven’t been to Palenque for quite some time now. As far as I understand, I don’t think they ever open the tomb for general tourists. I think it would take official permissions from INAH to get inside and that would require a research proposal or official media access request of some kind.
