I did not think I was going to use the words 'hegemony and 'proletariat' this morning. (Done it twice now.)

George replaced the previous, and English, Edmund. I often wonder if this was a deliberate (still successful?) strategy by the Norman hegemony in England to keep the native proletariat oppressed: if their patron saint is foreign, they might be more likely to accept a French ruling class.

I'll happily buy it at full price in a proper shop.

I suspect none of 'bridges in Yorkshire begin with 'The'. (No idea if there are any tunnels there.)

Maybe just a London quirk. All the bridges across the Tyne begin with 'The'. (And so does the tunnel.)
