Remember all the cardiologists whining about Atrial fibrillation with the Apple Watch?

I am sure it has lead to many unnecessary referrals - but also possibly some saves. Surely they didn’t have tsunami of inappropriate referrals right?

But it may still be useful as < 50% of adults age 50-80 monitor home BP regularly and only 62% were recommended by their PCP to check BP . This may be another reason for consumers to check BP with other devices jamanetwork.com/journals/jam...

To me, It sounds like a PPG sensor analyzing the pulse transit time "Apple Watch use data from the optical heart sensor to analyze how a user’s blood vessels respond to the beats of the heart. The algorithm works passively in the background reviewing data".
