Since when do our elected officials rule by extortion and threats. This is our country and our government. Neither kings nor demigods have a place in it.

Yesterday, I helped my spouse clean up his Facebook account. He recently replaced his old tablet and downloaded Facebook to the tablet. The posts and feeds appearing on his page were racist, sexist, and right-wing propaganda. If this is typical Facebook fare, I understand why Trump won the election.

@troubledinsc.bsky.social I switched my default search engine to Firefox. I removed Google from all my devices. I quit FB. I know these are small acts of resistance, but it's something I can do.

@whysharksmatter.bsky.social I only know one other ichthyologist. But my grandson loves fishing so much he would be a great candidate for your field of expertise. He always does catch and release but before he takes a picture so he can add it to the list species he's caught.

The university where I teach is closed, the public library is closed, and my gym is closed. Even the grocery store is closed. I think this boredom may be terminal. This has all been caused by a couple of inches of snow. The Yankee part of me is embarrassed for us.

So the first thing he does is disenfranchise birth right citizenship. I was born here. That is my claim to citizenship. We were warned. He said the 2024 election was the last time we would have to vote. Non-citizens can't vote. Just who did his loyal suckered think he was talking about?
