I'm sorry to have to say our beautiful Polly was put to sleep last night. She was a very bright cat, and it was easy to forget she was also old and had a chronic health condition. The vet came to our house and was kind, gentle and quiet. She had a peaceful and dignified end.

Polly's exciting couple of days - watching goldfinches in the garden, soaking up the sunrise, having a nurse on Thursday evening and basking in the admiration of all visitors to the house.

Polly is too heavy to sit on the roof of her new cardboard box. She has two brand new cat ogloos and the choice of three actual bedrooms, but she likes to sleep in a cardboard box.

So not just me, then! Our Polly is unendingly cute, so it's impossible NOT to take hundreds of pictures. There's bunny paws, paws over the eyes, legs hanging over the edge of the bed ... a lifetime's work cataloguing her poses.
