🧵/1 @jessicacalarco.bsky.social's quote really hit home, especially after watching my wife balance her academic career and raising 2 kids. Even in developed countries like Australia, the UK and the US, women's rights aren’t fully respected. It makes me wonder how women in other countries are doing.

Four years ago, that quote of mine went massively viral, maybe because it captured the crushing weight of what so many women had long been holding, plus the impossibility of holding even more without support as the pandemic dragged on. 1/
