The moors of northern England are so barren! But I did hear somewhere that in ancient times the moors were thick woodland. It's only from sustained harvesting to build homes and communities that they are no longer. Added by the fact that felled trees are easier to transport downhill than up!

Let's not pretend that this is some edgy new design thing like "why didn't anyone do this before?!"... Also, it's not just music that are doing this right now. Horror movies like Substance, Infinity Pool and Longlegs are making use of heavy, simple typography.
