Went to Costco and I decided that I had to have these two books. Read the first one on my Kindle as a library loan. Second one, the loan just came in yesterday and today I couldn’t say no to the purchase!!!

I want to tell you my truth. The number of times I look at my phone and wish for a message. Any message. A hi. Holding on to hope. But despite the bread crumbs, despite knowing the disparity in our friendship, I hold on to hope. Stupidly. Convincing myself of the lie. #writing #prose #poetry

‪#Poetry are words that are stored deep within the chasms of your being. The flame that keeps you alive in the coldest of nights. Poetry is everything and nothing. Poetry is. Well, poetry just is.‬

I cannot see the full path. There’s enough to see a few steps ahead. And I write hoping the way will unfold at some point.

There are a lot of reasons people believe in religion. I’m not religious, but I don’t believe that all religious people are delusional.

There’s always bigger stuff to worry about!
I think I am weird because I don't care how you hang the toilet paper & I don't care if you use an Oxford comma or sag your pants or wear white after Labor Day. And I'll call you whatever pronoun you want as long as it's only one syllable. There's bigger stuff to worry about. 🤷‍♀️

‘For there is always light.
if only we’re brave enough to see it.

If only we’re brave enough to be it.’

By Amanda Gorman
“I will ride light back. I have healed myself in light and will return, in light, to light.”

— Alice Notley, from Certain Magical Acts

How do you get to a point where you write your book and there are no edits? Some day I’ll be ‘that’ writer.

All I know is that writing is re-writing. And it never really ends.

So beautiful. Love the drunk metaphor!
Asked a direct question
about what it means,

Love is vague,
it will veer from side to side,
like a drunk

swerving in and out of
context,

refusing to be pinned
down.

I super resonate with this quote. So relatable as a writer.

I love this quote. What a great way for the reader to learn and for the writer to share. Perfect symbiosis.
“For me, [poetry and] literature is a way of enlarging myself by learning about people who are not like me.”

— Anne Fadiman

When you feel under the weather, even your #writing suffers. Fighting a damned stuffy nose etc and just want to recoup asap.

When I was #writing the first draft of my novel, I read somewhere that it was the easiest step. I thought, ya right!?!
Next time, I’ll believe that and savor it.
