Apparently Nicholas Serota was there on Saturday (as I was) and I hope that he was ashamed of the cuts levied under his 'leadership' on this stunning company. Sadly, cuts here are also being made at Cardiff University where the School of Music is set to close. Land of song, anyone?

I've been having the same thoughts. One of the biggest conferences in my field occurs every year (apart from this one) in the USA. I imagine plenty of us with a more radical bent are thinking 'nah, you're ok' and backing off. After all, there are equally good, less soul destroying ones to go to.

Cardiff features in the latest edition of The Gramophone. It's not exactly the kind of press you need, is it?

Me too. I came across it about 40 years ago when my choreographer flat share used it for a dance. Every time I hear it, I’m 23 with no money in a Chalk Farm flat watching her put it all together. Good times.

I have the same edition!

I’d simply like her to invest in music education and ensure the future of the classical music sector after its utter shafting by the DCMS and Arts Councils. Not a funky groovy project but an amazing one.

My cat has taken up residence in a drawer under my bed. It's got towels, clothes I wanted to keep for sentimental reasons and is clearly a much-loved space. However, she is now starting to be interested in the hot water bottle...

Many thanks for this. It needs to be shared and used in order to counter the huge misinformation on this issue.

Betty is in bed with her human tin opener who’s going down with the lurgy.

What a beauty. There’s something magical about finding a fox in your garden. The fox wee smell? Somewhat less so!

She was right and was proven to be so from accounts provided by P&O staff. Shame on Labour.

I saw a stage adaptation of Drive Your Plough at the Bristol Old Vic a few years ago which was astonishing and very loyal to the superb book. Worth seeing if it ever gets revived.

Absolutely and I love it but apart from the saltiness of it I’ve struggled to see the appeal where cats are concerned. But you make a very good point!

What is it about cats and cheese? Hysteria regarding the opening of a tin of tuna I can understand but cheese???
