The SPELL framework has 3 aims:
1️⃣To increase opportunities and purpose with & for autistic people
2️⃣To promote respect for autistic people through Acceptance
3️⃣To recognise & remove barriers to wellbeing and quality of life for autistic people; promote Belonging and Acceptance
November 13, 2025 at 11:42 AM
It has been successfully applied by practitioners in these settings:
✳️community and inpatient mental health
✳️schools and colleges
✳️health and justice
✳️sports and fitness

Practitioners frequently cite the helpfulness of the framework in building a relationship and rapport with autistic people.
