I'd argue that for many of those countries, it was never there.

They did it because it kept critical views at bay.

But now those critical/sceptical views are gaining ground, no need to pretend any further.

It will be to our determent but the powerful elite don't care.

Over the weekend, arrests at UK pro-Palestine protests showed shrinking civic space. #InclusiveDRR relies on civic freedoms, fair laws, and accountable digital tools.

Without them, resilience falls short.

I’m in Europe & see inclusive DRR embedded in policy, funding, & practice, from accessible warnings to migrant-inclusive planning.

In the UK, good local initiatives exist, but without stronger national leadership & funding, inclusion for all at-risk groups will remain uneven.

Proposed addendum to the UNDRR Gender Action Plan, developed after #DRRLive, aims to better reflect the needs of gender & sexual minorities in disaster risk reduction.

Developed as a resource to support LGBTQIA+ inclusion in #DRR.
