The housing market is essential to both individuals and the entire economy

The "AI Industry" is an artificially inflated bubble of an over-hyped "industry, " which if disappeared, few would notice.

People with more money than common sense made bad decisions

It does not need a bail-out

Unfortunately, it lasted all day

Doug Wilson is a serious bit of work
- Believes in biblical patriarchy, both in the church and in the home, "Wives need to led with a firm hand"
- Slavery in the South produced "a genuine affection between the races"
- His church is attempting to make Moscow, ID a theocracy, not civil government

This is the dumbest idea ever
- Individuals have ZERO bargaining power
- Preexisting conditions will be a thing again
- With the numbers they threw out, everyone will get $70 a year to buy insurance.

It's as if they don't see what has happened to the attorneys who have gone before them.

Even if they do not get disbarred, they become a perpetual embarrassment to everyone around them.
November 18, 2025 at 5:35 PM
I remind my children, when they seem embarrassed by their parents, about the time they threw such a fit in the store we had to abandon a grocery cart and leave or started to undress in public as the decided they didn’t really like their shirt, etc

I mean, we had the guy on talking about why beef prices were going up - "because immigrants were smuggling in cows, which had diseases ..."

As dumb as these people sound, remember that someone selected them for that job, thinking they would be good at it

They also submitted three indictments to the grand jury, got a no bill on one, so "restructured it to look like they had only submitted two (to be batting 100%) - without going back to the grand jury. She then submitted this to the court as if it HAD gone to the grand jury.

A bit more serious.

I had to deal with an estate law attorney once. He was great, but there was going to be a hearing. He referred me to someone for the hearing, stating he is "not good in court."

That's OK - they each stayed in their lane. Problems arise when people think they're good at everything. They're not.

"Look, I got a 100%, not 66%! I'm smarts."

Congratulations!

An unpublished benefit of your PhD is it is apparently an Incel repellant.

While career prosecutors were fired for not wanting to take the case, Lindsey Halligan stepped up

Good for her! (Sarcasm)

The generalized incompetence and bad lawyering is both sad and entertaining at the same time

On one side,
James Comey - Former USA, SD NY and Deputy AG
Patrick Fitzgerald - Former USA in Chicago and head of the Organized Crime and Terrorism Unit

On the other side,
Lindsey Halligan - prosecutorial experience, NONE

It's not even a fair fight, but quite enjoyable

The AI process #Humana is using for claims is ridiculously wrong. They are supposed to be "fixing" it - they should just throw it in the trash.

Spoken as someone who has never had to worry about coverage for the last 20 years due to his time in office.

Shocking as he is an MD but does not have the slightest idea how coverage works or what it costs

Yes. And it’s just stainless steel.
We saw no damage to painted or chrome surfaces

We switched to a less corrosive surface disinfectant

Don’t get me wrong, it’s still great clinically and shelf stable for 6+ months
November 16, 2025 at 6:31 PM
We used it in clinical spaces for a while

Works great; I even kept it in my car

A cautionary tale: Over-spray and droplets in the air will corrode stainless steel.

We had to have some equipment treated and refinished, replaced all the cabinet handles and sink faucets

As in all things like this, I miss the people, not the institution

I spend less time on BlueSky than on Twitter, but this is part of cutting back my use of SM in general

I used to fly over 200K miles a year. I now get on a plane twice a year & that’s a good thing for me & my family

All positive
November 16, 2025 at 3:29 PM
I too miss #medtwitter - somewhat

I my career evolved from highly connected, meeting people in various roles across the country every week to back to 100% clinical during COVID

#medtwitter helped replace the professional isolation I experienced

But as I changed, so has my usage of SM

I dealt with a similar priest. My answer was to tell him “So you believe in a vengeful god, not a god of mercy & love?”

There are some wonderful clergy who do wonderful things. There is also a legacy of horrible behaviors which caused pain for so many & that is not gone from the church.

Refusing to admit they gained weight, got out of shape

People don’t buy the right suit

Here’s the thing: A good shop would not let you walk out without adjusting the sleeves, the pants, the back, etc

You don’t have to look 10 Lbs of potatoes in a 5 Lb bag
