Seeing this from the Washington Post is like seeing your favorite coffee shop in undergrad turned into a vape shop.
The Washington Post opinion section is a thing to behold today. (Don't worry, I canceled my subscription, but old habits die hard, and I tend to still navigate to their front page during my news reading in the morning.)

as I told my Uni 101 students on the first day, writing a paper or coding with AI is like going to the gym and lifting weights with a forklift

yeah, you can do it, but it's not accomplishing what you set out to do by going to the gym

This is yours truly, now that I’m back on contract. Any other professors feeling this? 🤦🏼‍♀️👩🏼‍🏫 #AcademicSky

Anyone besides me going back on contract tomorrow? Tonight, I’m ordering takeout and going through the Bodega Cats feed. No extremism tonight. How are you all coping?. #AcademicSky

The official ending of the #Studbudz stream was four of my #Lynx ladies getting down to “Pink Pony Club”. I love it! 🏀🥰
The official ending to the 72 hour stream on the PJ. Pink Pony Club…one more time 🥹

Note: they will be back for a livestream on Wednesday 😉

Working on a new project involving women who are professional athletes and city managers. The stories they’ve had to tell have been awesome! I can’t wait to start presenting preliminary findings this academic year! #AcademicSky #PASky #PoliSky #gender

Ordered “Pay us what you owe us,” WNBA players union shirt, just like the ones they wore last night. I believe every professional woman has at least said that in her head a billion times in her life (especially when putting her body and payday on the line for literal pennies compared to the men.)

If you had to create a playlist about this year, so far, what would be on it?

Three cheers for the liberal arts!!!
Theater major friend ended up running a video game studio.
Spanish major roommate founded and runs children's charity.
History major friend is the CEO of a major port.
My theater degree took me into animation and video game production.
Learn to learn.
That is the whole point.

🧵Post 9: The Illusion of Time

People think they'll resist later. After the election. When things get "really" bad. But autocrats work fast. They know if they can quickly corrupt our democratic institutions, it will be much harder to fix later on. #SpeakUp

Every researcher on this app RN:

“My NSF grant, ‘How to solve cancer, poverty, and climate change within the next five years’ has been cancelled by this administration. Instead of scientific research I’ll be working in a tarriff-free American sweatshop making fidget spinners for $19 each.”

After a morning of utter bedlam, I finally have a moment to sit with my coffee and minimize thoughts of the day ahead. I cherish these!

Sorry it’s been a while, folks. We had an international student detained by ICE and five more lose visas. People are scared to death. It’s all I can do to think, some days.

You have to watch this. It shows the power of community, standing up for what’s right, and being the America we need to be. Welcome home.

This is a travesty. We do programs like this to not only promote scholarship and create knowledge but to also create goodwill with our international community. I hope that, at least, those already abroad can get home. 😭
