I win.

Her nibs has been busy knitting Easter Bunnies for a charity that'll sell them next year. These are her latest creations - one ain't shaking its tailfeather (yet) but the one next to it is over-compensating.

Post yourself from a different era. 1988, pirate radio, "Dr Nightdub's Roots Rockin' Rainbow Rhythms Revolution" in full flow. @stane.bsky.social For bonus kudos, the studio was on the top floor upstairs over McGonagles.

Watching highlights of Notts Forest v Sunderland and it reminds me of my very first Subbuteo set

I wonder which came first, the Dublin one or this one on South Main St in Cork?

No idea if there's a link, but on a recent tour, the guide explained that tombs like this were to deter graverobbers.
Bully's Acre graveyard, Kilmainham, Dublin.

Outstanding typo in the Irish Times this morning:

#2 A Sherwood Forester, who died of wounds sustained in the Easter Rising on the same day that John McBride was executed in Kilmainham Gaol across the road.
#3 That they may face the rising sun.

Finally, after 3 or 4 years of it always being booked out, got to go on the tour of Bully's Acre graveyards in the Royal Hospital Kilmainham as part of Heritage Week.
#1 William Proby, who fought with King Billy at the Boyne. Apparently, a site of pilgrimage for Orangemen.

Exhibits A & B. No amount of judicious cropping could get rid of the very non-1920s clutter.

Went on a lovely guided tour of "The Monastic Gardens of Brú Chronáin" (Clondalkin round tower) earler today as part of Heritage Week. Still can't get over the fact that someone is successfully growing grapes in Clondalkin - not enough for a bottle of wine, but it's a start!

Opel Kadett, can't remember the year, but it was like this colour, only more sickly lime-green. Stolen from the SCR, used in a ram-raid, recovered at the scene; a Garda in Balbriggan had to show me how to hotwire it to drive it home.

Third day on holiday in Cork and I'm struck by the adulation for Terence MacSwiney. Even Michael Collins only gets two statues here, but MacSwiney has a statue and I've lost count of how many works of street art.

In Scotland, the official sponsor for football referees is Specsavers.
This guy could make a fortune if he cut a deal with Vicks Inhaler.

"AI is slop" - my tuppenceworth.

Last September, I put up a blog post with a tongue-in-cheek title (Exhibit A).

Since then, AI has spotted it and, with its highly-sophisticated reading comprehension and learning abilities, just gone with the fairies (Exhibit B).

Thanks. I liked the contrast between that building and the other "modern" shite. Had occasion recently to write about a wee girl who was shot in that same street in 1921.
