Been chatting with some valued colleagues. Our shared perspective is that even the very best parenting interventions have only limited impact (at best) unless we pay attention to the family's social and economic context, adopt a trauma-focus, work relationally and flexibly, and implement well.

Social workers reminded us today that they typically get about 2 hours teaching on parent-infant relationships as part of their Masters.

Sounds paltry but is it any better for midwives, health visitors, clinical psychologists??
