While I tend to agree, I think it's a deeper issue relating to an active unwillingness to consider different viewpoints, opinions and facts and most importantly a lack of willingness for intersection of one's own held opinions.

Let's not kid ourselves, X is just the hot button social media platform right now. There's plenty of gross, distasteful, hate-filled ignorance on all platforms, even BlueSky.

Frankly most social platforms are a cesspool. Just reading the comments of the OP confirms it here too. X, Facebook, Bluesky, Tiktok: It's all full of hate and ignorance wearing different team jerseys.

The majority of internet users (known as 'user agents') are non-human/"bots" or otherwise automated systems doing all sorta of things.
