Sorry, i meant to introduce that link in this comment. Basically it shows how the unanimity of scholars on this topic has sometimes been misrepresented. I think not acknowledging that is damaging to the discussion.

I had left this thread as it was getting heated, but ill return for this comment. I think we are smart enough to know when the disuptees are mavericks/charlatans and when they have reasonable arguments even if we dont accept their conclusions. This case is the latter IMO.

It seems to me they are not necessarily fringe scholars, nor islamophobes (if thats what youre suggesting). There is a very live debate about the terminology, regardless of which side of that debate we as laypersons may fall.

Yes, but the big difference is basically everyone accepts the description of the Holocaust, including even the perpertrator nation. Re Gaza there is still some debate among scholars and other commentators, which should be recognised i think. Just my POV.

This doesnt seem correct. He is simply saying that the term genocide is contested, which is correct, and should be recognised in any wp article. There is no hint of "denial" here.
