The mean is doing some heavy lifting, what about the median household?

Official emissions estimates only consider flights, leaving a country as part of that countries emissions to avoid double counting. In this paper we are looking emissions in and out of the UK. So the figures are not comparible. Section 5.1 of paper explains the details.

I should say I'm not planning on doing this; I'm making a point about land use for a lecture and would like clarity on the law.

Transport Scotland funds www.npt.scot to help councils plan better cycling infrastructure. But still lots to do.

The interesting thing here is that the Chancellor is identifying areas around stations as places where development should be concentrated. This is an old and proven idea. But it is unusual for it to be discussed at such a high level. That is what makes it exciting times.

The UK system is unusual in that is largely responsive, so slow and unpredictable. You ask for permission on a case by case basis. Most countries have a more zone based approach where areas have pre-granted permission for anything within specific limits as defined in the plan.

Fascinating read. I wrote last year that moving the capital might be a way to rebalance the north-south divide www.edrc.ac.uk/news-blog/it...

A 1 month snapshot of each years GB bus/rail timetable as GTFS file for 2004 - 2024. Some gaps and quality issues. Patched together from various sources. I now update with quarterly snapshots of BODS, Traveline, RDG. DFT told me no archives are kept of BODS but would love to hear differently.

Is the a github repo or similar I can look at for the data collection code?

I'm interested in making before and after comparisons, e.g. policy changes. But that can be hard if you only realise during or after the event you need data. So there is value in grabbing data now, before you know why you need it.

I've been trying to build a historical record of timetables, in the UK. With annual/quarterly snapshots of BODS/Traveline/Network Rail data. First thought is to add realtime data for validation and to see things not in the timetable. Punctuality stats etc.

Are you planning to expand this? Would be interested to link it up with work I'm doing on bus timetables e.g. friendsoftheearth.uk/climate/bus-... and www.carbon.place.
