We told you it was about whiteness. If it was clear enough before, it’s clear now.

Trump paused the refugee program, but when it comes back online, it will focus on resettling white South Africans (Afrikaners) who are “victims of racial discrimination.” (Camilo/CBS)

America has gone off the rails.

Setting quotas of arrests per day. You know what happens when you have a quota to meet? Scoop them up and let the court sort it out. They will be grabbing anyone they can. No proof of citizenship on your person? Too bad. That’s an arrest. Look “illegal?” Explain it to the court someday.

I published a piece in Newsweek w/ Liz Ventura on the findings from our research on Florida’s immigration law and what the findings can tell us about the outcomes of mass deportations to come. I wish the findings were more optimistic. www.newsweek.com/floridas-new...

Of course, Florida continues to try to roll back anything that has been good for immigrants!
For a decade now, undocumented immigrants who were brought to the country as children have had the opportunity for a more affordable education at Florida colleges and universities under a law that allows them to pay reduced tuition rates eligible only to Florida residents.

That could change soon.
Reduced tuition rates for Dreamers in Florida should be phased out, top GOP leader says
“The citizenship of the country is the foundation of all of it,” Senate President Ben Albritton told reporters in Tallahassee.
